Time-resolved infrared spectroscopic investigation of Ga2O3 photocatalysts loaded with Cr2O3-Rh cocatalysts for photocatalytic water splitting

Investigation of the charge dynamics and roles cocatalysts is crucial for understanding reaction photocatalytic water splitting on semiconductor photocatalysts. In this work, photogenerated electrons in Ga2O3 loaded with Cr2O3-Rh was studied using time-resolved mid-infrared spectroscopy. The structure these identified high-resolution transmission electron microscopy CO adsorption Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, as Rh particles partly covered Cr2O3. decay reveals that only trapped by efficiently participate H2 evolution reaction. Cr2O3 promotes transfer from to Rh, which accelerates electron-consuming evolution.
